Some of the biggest waves and best whitewater in the Southeast are found on this section of the Nolichucky River. The watery bliss of the Nolichucky River is matched by its stunning rock-scapes and Native American legends making the Nolichucky River an idyllic whitewater adventure. Alluring water temperatures make the Nolichucky River perfect for swimming and paddling. The Nolichucky’s large sandy beaches create the perfect place to serve our famous gourmet deli buffet lunch.


Breathtaking scenery, warm weather and great whitewater make this full day trip great for kids and adults of nearly any age. No wonder a whitewater adventure on the Nolichucky River is known around the world as an unforgettable adventure. The minimum age for the Nolichucky River is 9 years old. Boat size and trip size change according to current water levels. High Mountain Expeditions uses 1-person inflatable kayaks and 4+, 6+ and 8+ person rafts on the Nolichucky River. Mother Nature determines the raft size.
